大戟屬多肉植物，原產馬達加斯加島。有多種變種，本種是莖匍匐性的變種。地下有粗壯根與肥大的主莖，植株叢生多分枝，枝上有軟刺。長橢圓形葉聚生莖端，長2~3cm，寬0.5~1cm，葉緣皺褶，葉色青綠或深綠，經強光照射後則呈紅褐色。大戟花序，花白、黃色。

A Euphorbia succulent plant native to Madagascar. A lot of varieties in the market, this species is a stem-creeping one with stout roots and main stems under the ground, grown in clumps, richly bifurcated, with soft thorns on the branches. Leaf oblong-shaped, clustered on the apex of the stem, 2 - 3cm in length, 0.5 - 1 cm in width, margin wrinkled. The leaves are greenish or dark green and turn reddish brown after being illuminated by strong sunlight. Cyathium, flowers white and yellow.

栽培：全日照或半日照環境下可生長良好。強光下葉色會變褐色，質感如古銅樣，更增加觀賞效果。種植要選擇排水透氣的介質，久旱會引起落葉，因此要注意適時澆水。不耐寒，冬季溫度不可低於15℃，寒流時可移至室內明亮處，控制澆水以助越冬。可用分株或扦插法來繁殖。

It grows well under full-sun or partial sun environment. When exposed to strong sunlight, the leaves will turn brown, bronze-like and highly ornamental. Draining and breathable soil and adequate watering required as the plant will defoliate during extended drought period. Not cold-tolerant, keep the air temperature no lower than 15℃ in winter. Move the plant to a bright indoor place and control watering to help it overwinter. Reproduced by ramets or cuttings.

匍匐生長的型態特殊，適合使用淺盆或寬盆種植。可欣賞聚集叢生的型態，或與其他多肉植物組合種植於盆緣，欣賞漫出的枝葉。

Valued by the creeping stems, the plant is suitable to plant in shallow or wide pots, in clusters, or on the rim of a mixed succulent pot to enjoy the spreading branches and leaves.
