鐵線蕨屬多年生草本，是原產中、南美洲的密葉鐵線蕨的園藝品種。附生或地生蕨類植物。地上有短莖。2至4回羽狀複葉，葉身長15~30cm，全葉呈長三角形至卵狀披針形，葉軸黑色光亮，小羽片扇形、邊緣有缺刻。與原種比較，本種葉片排列較緻密，且羽片寬大且裂紋較多且深。

A perennial herb in the genus Adiantum. It is a cultivar of Adiantum raddianum that is native to Central and South America. An epiphytic or terrestrial fern with short stems on the ground. Compound fronds bipinnate, tripinnate or quad pinnate, 15-30cm long, long triangle to ovate-lanceolate, rachis black and shiny, pinnules fan-shaped, and margin incised. Compared with the parent species, this species develops denser fronds, wider pinnae with more and deeper lobes.

半日照至全日照溫暖環境，高濕度可以促進生長。栽培介質以泥炭土或培養土為主，混合少許石灰調整酸鹼值至弱鹼性。介質略乾就澆水，水應避免澆淋於葉片上，以免葉片受損。隔週施用一次稀薄的觀葉植物用液體速效性肥料。繁殖使用分株法。

The fern thrives in partial-sun to full-sun and warm conditions; high moisture can promote the growth. Mainly use peat soil or culture soil as the medium, mixed with a little lime to adjust the pH value to reach weak alkalinity. Water once the medium slightly dries and don’t water directly on the fronds to avoid damage. Apply a quick-release liquid fertilizer specialized for foliage plants every other week. Propagated by division.

纖細柔弱的形象深受歡迎，因極細的黑色葉軸，而有Maidenhair少女髮絲的美稱。適合地植於牆垣邊等可以避風的位置，或盆栽擺放於陽臺內側避陽背風處，在室內明亮的窗邊也可以正常生長。葉片可以製作押葉標本，用於書籤、卡片的設計。

The fern is highly popular for its slender and delicate posture. Its epithet “Maidenhair girl hair” is named after the delicately thin black rachis. Suitable to be planted on the ground next to walls and other places where it can be sheltered from wind, or as a potted planter keep inside of the balcony from the sun, also grow well besides well-lit windows. The fronds can be used to make pressed-leaf bookmarks and cards.
