福祿桐屬常綠灌木或小喬木，原產新幾內亞至澳洲東北部熱帶氣候區。枝直立，高2~6m。互生單葉或三出複葉，小葉圓形，直徑5~20cm，葉緣有圓齒，原種綠色葉，有各種斑葉品種。頂生圓錐花序，雌雄異花，花徑約0.6cm。果實球形。

An evergreen shrub or a small tree in the genus Polyscias, native to tropical regions from New Guinea to northeastern Australia. Branches erect, 2~6m high. Leaves alternate, uni- or tri-pinnately compound, small and round in shape, 5-20cm in diameter with crenate margin. The parent species bears green leaves and there are many variegated cultivars. Panicle terminal, dioecious, flower diameter about 0.6cm. Fruit spherical.

全日照或半日照溫暖環境，高濕度能促進生長。使用排水良好的介質，積水易使根部腐爛造成植株凋萎。春至秋每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。繁殖使用扦插、空中壓條法為主。

Preferably full-sun or partial-sun and warm environments. High moisture can promote the growth but well drainage is essential to prevent waterlogging in the soil which may cause roots rotten and withering. Apply a slow-release compound fertilizer once a season from spring to autumn. Propagation mainly by cuttings and air layering.

樹型優雅，葉片婆娑有致，葉片斑紋美麗，是受歡迎的樹型盆栽，常用於室內外美化環境使用，兼具淨化空氣的效果。汁液有刺激性，修剪枝葉應戴手套。

The elegant tree shape and variegated leaves makes it a popular tree-type planter. Often used for indoor and outdoor beautification as well as for air purification. Wear gloves when trimming the branches and leaves as the sap will cause skin irritation.
