花燭屬多年生草本，原產南美洲西北部及中部。附生植物。莖縮短，有氣生根。革質帶狀葉互生，長60~150cm、寬3~5cm。淺褐色線狀披針形佛焰苞早凋，白綠色肉穗花序長條形，果實淺紅至粉紅色半透明，開花期夏季。

A perennial herb in the genus Anthurium, native to northwest and central South America. An epiphyte. Stem shortened with aerial roots. The leathery strap-like leaves grow alternately, 60-150cm long and 3-5cm wide. Light brown linear-lanceolate spathes wither early, spadix long and white-green, fruits light red to pink and translucent, blooming in summer.

半日照溫暖環境。通常使用懸掛式栽培法。介質使用排水良好的培養土或椰纖，混入椰塊或樹皮，以形成排水透氣良好的狀態，促進根部生長。略具耐旱性，介質乾才澆水，春至秋每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。繁殖使用分株與播種法為主。

The plant does best in partial-sun and warm environments. Usually cultivated in hanging baskets. Use well-drained culture soil or coconut coir mixed with coconut pieces or bark for better drainage and aeration to promote root growth. Slightly drought-tolerant, water only when the medium appears dry, and apply a slow-release compound fertilizer once every season from spring to autumn. Propagated from divisions and seeds.

植株型態特殊，與其他花燭屬植物大異其趣，是物種演化多樣性的例子。適合懸掛於樹幹上或屋簷下，欣賞垂曳的葉片與花序。果實瑩亮可愛，具有觀賞價值。

The unique posture of the plant is very different from other anthuriums which is a perfect example of diversified evolution. It is suitable to be hung on the trunk or under the eaves to showcase the dangling leaves and inflorescences. The bright fruits are also ornamental.
