圓盤玉屬的多肉植物，原產巴西。扁球形，高4.5~15cm、直徑8~28cm，淺綠色或灰綠色，10~22條稜，成株稜會膨大為疣狀。刺座白色，無中刺；側刺通常為7支，長1.5cm，質地粗糙，通常白至黃色，也有深灰至褐色刺的園藝品種。至成熟年齡後會於莖頂產生棉毛狀花座，白色、黃色或灰色。白色花於夜間開花，花徑5cm，花朵芳香濃郁。開花期夏季。

A succulent plant of the genus Discocactus, native to Brazil. Shaped oblate, 4.5 - 15cm high, 8 - 28cm in diameter, light green or gray-green, 10 - 22 ridges swollen as tubercles when mature. Areoles white, no central spines, usually 7 radials, 1.5 cm long, rough, white to yellow, some cultivars producing dark gray to brown spines. After reaching maturity, a cotton wool-like cephalium is formed at the apex of the stem and tinged white, yellow or gray. White flowers bloom at night, with strong aroma, 5 cm in diameter. Flowering in summer.

栽培：全日照通風環境下可生長良好，日照充足時可促進開花。炎夏時切勿讓植株曝曬，以免產生日燒等曬傷跡象。為了防止爛根等情形，需採用排水透氣的酸性介質；鹼性介質會影響生長。高溫期生長，可觀察介質乾就澆水；低溫期休眠，應節水以助越冬。

The plant grows well with full sun and good ventilation. Sufficient sun exposure can promote flowering, however, exposure in high summer may cause sunburn. Plant in well-draining and breathable soil to avoid root rotting; acid soil is recommended because alkaline soil has a negative impact on the growth. The plant grows well in high temperature, watering when the soil appears dry; dormant in winter, reduce water use to help it overwinter.

生長緩慢，以欣賞刺的個體變化為主，有刺特別粗壯且尖端發黑的個體。花朵香味濃郁，是仙人掌中花香突出的種類。
