肖竹芋屬多年生草本，原產巴西南部。株高20~60cm。地下有短根莖。葉柄長，長卵形葉片，長10~25cm、寬5~8cm，葉色淺綠有麥穗狀斑紋，斑紋較葉身突起，且有光亮感。總狀花序，苞片綠色，花黃色，開花期夏季。

半日照溫暖且高濕度環境，乾燥容易造成葉緣損傷焦黃。使用排水良好且富含有機質的培養土種植，不耐旱，介質略乾或觀察葉片萎軟就澆水。春至秋每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。繁殖使用分株法。注意紅蜘蛛危害。

The plant flourishes in partial-sun, warm and highly-moist environments, drought may cause the leaf margin damaged and browning. Well-drained culture soil rich in organic matter is preferred. Water when the soil slightly dries or the leaves show signs of wilting. Apply a slow-release compound fertilizer once every season from spring to autumn. Propagated by division. Pay attention to the hazard of spider mites.

具有明亮的葉色斑紋，葉片排列較鬆散，常單植或作為遮蔭場域的地被植物用，花朵較同屬植物具有觀賞性，只是開花位置低容易被葉片遮住，須將盆栽放置高處才容易欣賞。葉片可剪下作為切葉用於花藝設計。

With bright variegated leaves arranged loosely, the foliage plant is often planted alone or as a ground cover in shady fields. The flowers have higher ornamental values than other Goeppertia plants, but the flowers are borne in a low position and easily blocked by the leaves, advisable to keep the planter in higher places for people to admire easily. The fresh-cut leaves can be used for flower arrangement.
