蔓綠絨屬多年生草質藤本，原產巴西北部、哥倫比亞、厄瓜多爾、秘魯、委內瑞拉。莖容易生長氣生根，以吸附攀爬，長度可達3m。葉長橢圓至倒披針形，長20~28cm、寬6~8cm，基部有外展的側裂片呈戟型，幼株與成株葉形不同，個體之間亦存在差異，葉色灰綠至綠色，具有銀灰色的視覺感。佛焰苞綠色或白色，園藝栽培罕見開花。

A perennial herbaceous vine in the genus Philodendron, native to northern Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. The stem is easy to grow aerial roots which allow the it to affix and climb, and the length can reach 3m. Leaves oblong to oblanceolate, 20-28cm long and 6-8cm wide. The lateral lobes at the base are halberd-shaped. The leaf shapes are different between young and adult ones as well as among individuals. Leaf gray-green to green and silver-grayish. Spathe green or white, but rarely flowering in horticultural cultivation.

半日照溫暖環境，全日照下需經馴化適應，否則會曬傷。介質使用排水良好的砂質壤土或培養土，水耕栽培也很合適。介質乾就澆水。春季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。扦插法繁殖。

The plant thrives in warm and partial-sun environments and needs to be acclimated to prevent sunburn if cultivated in full-sun positions. Well-drained sandy loam or culture soil is preferred, but hydroponic cultivation is also an option. Water once the medium is dry. Apply a slow-release compound fertilizer once in spring. Propagation by cutting.

The sturdy foliage plant is easy to propagate and grow. Valued for its peculiar leaf shape and color, it can be a single planter alone or in a mixed planter to accentuate the color matching effect.
