毬蘭屬常綠半木質藤本，原產東亞的亞熱帶至熱帶地區，臺灣亦有分佈。以莖上的氣生根吸附支持物攀爬。葉對生，厚革質，卵圓形至橢圓形。聚繖花序自葉腋伸出，花序柄可持續開花。花白至淺粉紅色，粉紅色副花冠星形，花徑2cm。開花期夏至秋季。

An evergreen semi-woody vine in the genus of Hoya, native to the subtropical to tropical regions of East Asia, and also distributed in Taiwan. The plant climbs with the support of aerial roots on the stem. Leaves are opposite, thickly leathery and ovoid to elliptic. The cymes extend from the leaf axils, and the inflorescence stalks consecutively bloom. Flowers are white to light pink, corolla are pink and star-shaped, flowers are 2cm in diameter. Flowering from summer to autumn.

半日照溫暖環境，於高濕度生長較快。適合傍樹種植，誘引藤蔓附樹幹攀爬。盆栽介質需排水良好。春至秋每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。莖蔓長伸時會略感雜亂，可人工纏繞繫綁整理，但勿隨意剪除以免影響開花。扦插法繁殖。

The plant enjoys partial sun and warm environments and can grow faster in high humidity. Suitable for planting under a tree to allow the vines to climb on the trunk. Well drained medium is required for pot plantation. Apply long-active compound fertilizer once a season from spring to autumn. Elongated vines will appear messy and better be manually entwined and tied for a neater looking, but don’t trim off too casually as it will affect flowering. Reproduced by cutting.

在自然界中會攀樹生長，適合生態造景使用，或使用造型攀爬架誘引攀爬，成為綠雕的材料。居家應用以吊盆種植為主，可單獨種植或與其他觀葉植物組合設計。

With the nature of climbing, it’s suitable for use of ecological landscaping, or as a material of green topiary by building a climbing structure allowing it to climb with. Hanging pots is the most common house application; others like single planting or in combination with other foliage plants.
