榕屬常綠喬木，原產東南亞。主幹直立，具氣根，皮孔明顯，側枝柔軟下垂。樹冠廣闊，遮蔭效果極佳。互生披針形至狹披針形葉，薄革質，脫落後留有環形痕跡。雌雄同株，隱頭花序。果球形，熟時呈紫黑色。

An evergreen tree in the genus Ficus, native to Southeast Asia. Trunk erect, with aerial roots, lenticels obvious, lateral branches soft and drooping. The broad canopy makes it a great shade tree. Leaves alternate, lanceolate to narrow lanceolate, thin leathery, circular leaf scars left after falling off. Monoecious, hypanthodium. Fruit spherical, purple-black when ripe.

喜全日照或半日照、溫暖而濕潤的氣候，高濕度易生出氣根。適應性強，生長勢旺盛，容易造型，病蟲害少，一般土壤均可栽培。繁殖可用播種、扦插、空中壓條法。

It prefers full-sun or partial-sun, warm and humid conditions; the aerial roots easily emerging in high humidity. Strong adaptability, vigorous growth, easy to shape and resistant to pests and diseases, not picky on soils. Propagated by seeds, cuttings, and air layering.

樹姿優美、枝葉婆娑，可作庭園景觀樹、行道樹或密植修剪為綠籬。幼株可種為盆栽欣賞。市面上有綠葉原種與葉片金黃色的黃金亞里垂榕。

Prized for the elegant tree shape and dense crown, it’s a great garden ornamental tree, street tree or hedge. The saplings can be planted in containers for appreciation. The original variety with green foliage and the cultivar with golden leaves are both available in the market.
