刷子樹屬常綠灌木，原產於澳洲的新南威爾斯州近海岸區。互生長披針形葉。花開於近枝端的葉腋成串，花蕊紅色；開花枝通常斜伸，有時會因為花的重量而下垂，花串末端通常沒有葉。開花期春季。

An evergreen shrub in the genus Callistemon, native to the coastal area of New South Wales, Australia. Leaves alternate and lanceolate. Flowers clustered on leaf axils near the branch tips, stamens red; flowering branches often ascending and occasionally arching due to the weight of flowers, usually leafless at the end of flower strings. Flowering in spring.

適合全日照溫暖環境。略具耐旱性，根系忌積水，栽培介質必須排水良好，培養土、壤土或砂質壤土皆可。介質乾燥才澆水。每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。修剪以樹冠內的細弱枝與交叉枝等不良枝為主。盛花後可以將開花枝剪去一半，能促進生長更多新枝以便未來開花。繁殖使用扦插、空中壓條法。

Suitably grown in warm environment with full sun. Slightly drought-tolerant, avoid waterlogging in the roots; adaptable to potting soils, loam or sandy loams as long as they are well-drained; water only when the medium is dry. Apply long-active compound fertilizers once a season; trim off the inferior branches such as weak twigs and crossing branches within the crown. After blooming, cut off a half of flowering branches to promote the growth of new branches required for future flowering. Propagation uses cuttings and air layering.
