素馨屬常綠或落葉木質藤本，是原產於印度的茉莉所選育的重瓣園藝品種。枝條柔軟下垂，若任其伸長則會纏繞攀附。對生或三葉輪生卵形至卵狀披針形葉。花開於枝端，花瓣繁多，層層包疊如玫瑰。開花夏至秋季。
