大稜柱屬多年生草本多肉植物，原產玻利維亞、巴西。黃綠色莖球形或扁球形，有10~15道稜，通常13道。刺黃色。白色花直徑可達8cm，夜晚開放至隔天中午凋謝，花壽命僅一天。開花期初夏。

A perennial herbaceous succulent plant in the genus Echinopsis, native to Bolivia and Brazil. Yellow-green stems are spherical or oblate, with 10 to 15 ribs, usually 13. Spines are yellow. The white flower can grow up to 8cm in diameter, they bloom at night and wilt at noon the next day, only last one day. Flowering in early summer.

栽培：全日照通風環境下可生長良好，日照充足時可促進開花，炎夏時切勿讓植株曝曬，可能會發生曬傷。為了防止爛根，種植時需採用排水透氣的介質。繁殖使用分株法，將基部的仔株剝下另外種植即可。

The plant enjoys full-sun and ventilated environments. Sufficient sunshine can promote flowering, but direct exposure in hot summer will cause sunburn. Planted in well-drained and breathable medium soil to prevent roots from rotting. Reproduced by ramets, simply peel off new shoots on the base and plant separately.

金盛丸球體小巧，容易開花，潔白的花朵碩大芳香，具有較高的觀賞價值，常會有花比球大的有趣現象。是比較不需要強烈日曬的仙人掌，即使在室內窗邊的明亮散射光下就能正常生長。
