仙人掌屬多肉植物，原產阿根廷。莖多肉質，原種有刺稱「長刺武藏野」，本種是無刺的變種。莖圓柱狀，分段串連狀，高約30cm；外皮灰綠色，鱗片狀紋路中有褐色刺座。花白色。

A succulent plant in the genus Opuntia, native to Argentina. Succulent stem. The parent species is spiny "Tephrocactus articulatus", while this plant is spineless. The stem is cylindrical, segmented and connected, about 30cm high; the outer skin is grayish-green, with brown areoles in the scale-like patterns. Flowers are white.

栽培：全日照通風環境下可生長良好，日照充足時可促進開花，初種植時勿立即接受烈日曝曬，以免曬傷。為了防止爛根等情形，種植時採用排水透氣的介質。繁殖使用扦插、播種法。

The plant enjoys full-sun and ventilated environments. Sufficient sunshine can promote flowering, but immediate sun exposure after initial plantation is prohibited in order to prevent sunburn. Planted in well-drained and breathable medium soil to prevent roots from rotting. Propagated by cutting and seeding.

外型特異，有別於普通仙人掌的形象，常為多肉植物愛好者收集栽培。生長緩慢，適合單盆種植，欣賞其樸實低調的姿態。

The plant shape is unique and different from common cacti, often collected and cultivated by succulent plant enthusiasts. The plant grows slowly, and is suitable for single pot plantation to appreciate its simple and low-keyed posture.
