簡介 Description

蘋果屬落葉喬木,臺灣原生,中國南部亦有分布。嫩枝被軟毛及刺;冬芽茶褐色,無毛。單葉,互生,具長柄,長橢圓形,葉基為圓形,葉尖銳尖,葉緣為鋸齒狀,葉脈帶有紅暈。花呈繖房花序,頂生,有毛;花瓣 5 片,黃白色。花期 2~5 月。果為梨果,球形,熟時由綠轉紅。

A deciduous tree in the genus Malus, native to Taiwan and also distributed in southern China. New branches are pilose and thorny; winter buds brown, and glabrous. Leaves single, alternate, with long stalk, oblong, base round, apex acute, margin serrated, veins tinged red. Corymb, terminal and hairy; 5 petals, yellow-white. Flowering from Feb. to May. Fruits are spherical pomes, green and ripe red.

栽培 Cultivation

以富含有機質排水良好的土壤為佳,喜濕潤地。種子繁殖或扦插繁殖。

Soils rich in organic matter, moisture, with good drainage are preferred. Propagated by seeds or cutting.

應用 Application

果具香氣,可鮮食,亦可製成蜜餞或釀酒。常做為蘋果砧木。果實有藥用,理氣健脾,消食倒滯,降壓。治食積停滯,胸腹脹滿疼痛,大便泄瀉。

The fruits are aromatic and can be eaten fresh or made into preserved fruit or wine. Often used as apple rootstocks. The fruits have medicinal properties like recuperating qi and spleen, treating digestion and stagnation, lowering blood pressure, treating chest and abdomen fullness and pain and diarrhea.
