鹿角蕨屬多年生草本，原產非洲中西部的多芽型鹿角蕨，葉分二型，盾狀為營養葉，新葉處有灰白色短絨毛，營養葉寬大且頂端呈波浪狀，通常左右對稱用以承接養分，在秋冬時會轉為棕色，兩片葉中間為V字形的裂口，帶狀葉為孢子葉，孢子葉多為下垂四散外擴生長，孢子囊群集生於葉端背面，生長良好環境下全株總長可達到約1.5公尺。

A perennial and multi-bud staghorn fern in the genus of Platycerium which is native to the midwest of Africa. It bears two types of fronds - basal and fertile fronds. Basal fronds are shield-shaped, broad and undulate in the apex; the fronds usually grow oppositely in order to collect detritus as nutrients; change to brown in autumn and winter; a v-shaped gap between the two lobes. Young basal fronds are grayish white with short villi. Strap-shaped fertile fronds are usually pendulous and outstretching. Sporangia are clustered on the underside on the frond tip. The plant can grow up to ca. 1.5 meters in ideal growing conditions.

全日照環境種植下生長較為快速，在半日照也可以生長，夏天需遮陰，三角鹿角蕨在鹿角蕨中屬於較喜歡水分的品種，冬天溫度過低時則要減少澆水量。繁殖採用分株或孢子繁殖，分株時建議等小芽約巴掌大的時候再進行繁殖。

It grows fastest in full sun, moderately in partial shade environment. Need shaded in summer. It’s more moisture-loving comparing with other staghorn fern species but requires less water in cold winter. Propagated by division or spores, suggest performing division after small buds grow up to the size of your palm.

特殊的型態深受喜愛，常用於表現花藝設計作品中，亦或在居家栽培中懸掛在高牆上做為壁飾植栽。
