肖竹芋屬多年生草本，是原產南美洲西部至巴西西部的彩虹竹芋園藝品種。株高20~30cm。地下有根莖。葉柄短，寬卵形葉，長、寬20~25cm，葉緣深綠色，葉身大面積粉紅色斑紋。總狀花序，苞片綠色，花白色。

The plant is a perennial herb in the genus Goeppertia and a cultivar of Goeppertia roseopicta which is native to western South America to western Brazil. Plant height 20~30cm with underground rhizomes. Petiole short, leaf wide oval, 20~25cm long and 25cm wide, leaf margin dark green, with large pink stripes. Racemes, bracts green, flowers white.

半日照溫暖且高濕度環境，乾燥容易造成葉緣損傷焦黃。使用排水良好且富含有機質的培養土種植，不耐旱，介質略乾或觀察葉片萎軟就澆水。春至秋每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。繁殖使用分株法。注意紅蜘蛛危害。

The plant prefers a partial-sun, warm and highly moist environment, drought may cause the leaf margin damaged and browning. Well-drained culture soil rich in organic matter is suggested, water once the soil surface starts to dry or the leaves show signs of wilting. Apply a slow-release compound fertilizer once every season from spring to autumn. Propagated by division. Pay attention to the hazard of spider mites.

具有瑰麗明亮的葉色，耐陰性較其他竹芋弱，光線不足時粉紅色的斑紋會褪色。常單植於室內觀賞，或作為遮蔭場域的造景組合設計用。葉片有明顯睡眠運動，夜晚會豎直。

The plant is valued for its magnificent and bright foliage, but the pink markings are apt to fade if lack of sunlight as it’s less tolerant to shade than other arrowroot plants. It is often planted alone as an indoor ornament, or included in landscaping designs for shaded areas. The leaves fold in an erect position at night which is known as diurnal rhythm movement.
