倒吊筆屬常綠灌木或喬木，原產於泰國至越南。對生披針形葉片，葉面光滑，葉緣波浪狀。聚繖花序自小枝的枝端長出，花柄細長，白色花瓣5枚，雄蕊聚合。開花期春至秋季。

An evergreen shrub or tree in the genus Wrightia, native from Thailand to Vietnam. Leaves opposite, lanceolate, smooth, and wavy on the margin. Cymes emerging from the apex of the branchlets, pedicel slender, with 5 white petals, stamens aggregated. Flowering from spring to autumn.

全日照或半日照環境，不耐旱。每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。枝條容易四散生長，必須加以修剪整形。繁殖採用空中壓條法或扦插法。

Full sun or part sun conditions are preferred, not drought-tolerant. Apply long-active compound fertilizers once a season. The branches are prone to droop and so require proper pruning. Propagated by air layering or cuttings.

水梅在東南亞為重要的綠籬植物，在泰國、越南等地，種植於寺廟內。耐修剪、分枝性好，生長茂密，為製作盆景的良材。庭園使用多單株種植或多株叢植再加以修剪整形。因為花朵下垂且花徑較小，需種植於易親近處以方便欣賞與嗅聞花香。

The species is commonly planted as hedge in Southeast Asia and inside temples in Thailand and Vietnam. An excellent bonsai plant because of its resistance to pruning, easily branching and density. For the use in garden, they are often planted alone or in clusters and then trimmed into desired shapes. It produces small and pendulous flowers, advised to plant in accessible locations for people to enjoy the shape and the floral fragrance.
